Web-Ready TVs

The Cello iViewer Brings Online Media Direct to Your Living Room

An amazing new television set called the Cello iViewer is being sold exclusively through Marks & Spencer in the UK, and could quite possibly assist in revolutionizing television as we know it.

The Cello iViewer has a built-in web link, with internet access and allows you to stream online content from leading TV/video websites such as the BBC iPlayer, YouTube and CNN, among other web TV channels.

As you will see in the promotional video below, the Cello iViewer integrates your television channels with internet access and home media content (by connecting it to your home computer).

What’s more, the TV is available in 32” Full HD 1080p (as well as 26” HD Ready). This isn’t completely unique, as you can see from some of the examples below, but it is clearly suggesting a trend of technology convergence that we can expect to see grow more and more in the future. Will there soon be very little differentiation between the function and convenience of our TVs, computers and mobile phones? Things are certainly heading that way.
