Turnitin has long fancied itself to be the plagiarism police, allowing colleges and universities to check the originality of students submissions. Well, in a bizarre twists of fate, the tables have been turned and two students are now suing Turnitin for copyright infringement.
Turnitin uploades students writings and has accrued a large database of work... students are now questioning the legalities of this practice, maintaining that the very plagiarism police are copyright offenders themselves.
And so the battle ensues...
