Velvet Curtain Walls

Rich Fabric Divides the Space in the Nagi Apartment

Curtain walls are the new room dividers—at least judging from the interior designs over in Japan, like the renovated ‘Nagi’ apartment in Kanagawa. Designed by Eiri Ota and Irene Gardpoit Chan of UUfie, the Nagi apartment follows on the heels of the Egota305 Residence in Tokyo, which used curtain walls as room dividers.

After being stripped and coated in white paint, the Nagi apartment was affixed with ceiling rails to allow for curtain walls made of patterned white velvet to open and close off sections of the home.
