The Sew Crafty store in Houston is the latest example of how DIY is gaining ground. Stores like Build-a-Bear used to have a stigma attached to them (and were only acceptable when celebrating children’s birthdays), but now DIY is gaining in reputation.

Sew Crafty in Houston offers classes for everything from sewing to painting. The store even had a class on needle felting vampire bunnies. (We hope this was because it’s nearing Halloween, and is not a regular class offering.)
