These frightening food safety ads from the Beijing Women and Children’s Development Foundation are beautiful and super creepy. At first glance children play in a world populated by giant foods, but upon closer inspection we see scorpions, snakes, thumb-tacks, metal thorns and shards of glass invading the landscape.
The tagline for these frightening food safety ads is, “Do you really know about his food?” The ads, created by Beijing-based Shunya Advertising Agency are meant to promote parental caution as China has in the past suffered some unfortunate food-related incidents. However, how much food in China is tampered with and how parents will know if it is or isn’t (especially when dangers are more subtle than bug-infested sushi) is unclear.
