Self-Deprecating Blogs

Online Sites Let Losers Post Their Misfortunes

In the wake of FML (F%@k My Life), a site used to post personal tragedy stories for the enjoyment of others, similar sites have been popping up all over the web.

‘My Life is Average’ lets boring people post about how uniquely average they are. For example, “Today I turned 11. I did not receive a letter from Hogwarts. MLIA.”

‘I’m so Bad at Sex’ is another blog that posts misfortunes such as having your boyfriend choose a rare Pokemon over having intercourse with you.

The last self-deprecating blog that follows close to the steps of FML shares equally amusing stories of horrible and depressing days such as “I had to tell my mom that my new girlfriend is pregnant. My mom, who introduced us, looked horrified. Apparently my girlfriend’s mom and my mom found each other some internet group for people who adopt. They wanted to see if we’d guess ourselves that we are biologically brother and sister.”
