Cut-Away Monokinis

Summer's Must-Have Swimwear Photgraphed in Ruins

The monokini is this summer’s hot swimsuit. The bathing suit style is a sexy one-piece with the sides removed, leaving a vertical strip of material joining the top and bottom of what would otherwise be a bikini.

In the June 2009 issue of Marie Claire Italy, striking cut-away styles are modeled dramatically by Nicola Haffman. The black and white images of 'Eclissi Solare' (translated to Solar Eclipses) were shot against a rugged background of stone ruins by Elina Kechicheva.
