Lulu Guinness Makes Waves with S/S ‘09 Handbag Designs

In celebration of the summer and 20 years of design, Lulu Guinness, the British designer known for her handbags and clutches in the shape of lips, has branched out to a line of clutches inspired by the sea.

The Spring/Summer 2009 collection features an orange sequin lobster, embroidered kissing fish and a black clutch adorned with small shells. In a homage to the Lips clutch, two clutches have been made into the shape of shells, shown in black and silver.

The line ranges from the extreme to the subtle, with everything from a simple black clutch with a scallop design to, as previously mentioned, an orange sequin lobster. So celebrate 20 years of Lulu and head to the ocean with your snakeskin silver shell clutch—4 words you probably wont find anywhere else.
