Mega Icon Reversals

Scarlett Johansson Plays the "Anti-Marilyn" for Vogue

Hollywood mega star Scarlett Johansson is gracing the cover of the April 2009 issue of Vogue Paris.

On the front page, an auburn-haired and stunningly cleavalicious Scarlett is captured in one of Dolce & Gabbana’s iconic and ultra-sensuous black corsets; The accompanying cover title, which reads “Scarlett Johansson: The Anti-Marilyn,” is, in all probability, a reference to Scarlett’s shedding of her trademark platinum tresses for a less bombastic brown-red hair color.

In addition to being Vogue Paris’s auburn-haired “Anti-Marilyn,” Scarlett Johansson is also the face--and ironically the Marilyn Monroe platinum blonde--of Dolce and Gabbana’s new line of make-up. Photos 3-6 above come from the print campaign from the makeup line.

Scarlett Johansson's cover photo was snapped by Mario Sorrenti while the styling was done by Vogue Paris editor Carine Roitfeld.
