Water-Repelling Swimsuits

Sun Dry Swim Bathing Suits Ward Off Wetness

It sounds like an oxymoron: “water-repellent swimsuit.” But it’s for real. The new swimwear line from Sun Dry Swim actually repels water, thanks to its proprietary nanotechnology-enhanced active wear fabric.

Wetness simply beads off the fabric and the suits take only seconds to dry. This is a major plus if you don’t have time to change after a swim and you want to jump in the car or sit on the sofa. Or, if you do change, there’s no more carrying a bag of damp bathing suits home from the beach.

According to the manufacturer, Sun Dry Technologies, the non-toxic nanotechnology treatment used on the fabric is environmentally-friendly and completely harmless to skin.

In addition to men’s and women’s swimsuits, the line also includes children’s bathing suits with an additional feature—an SPF 50 rating.

The current line is sold by online retailer Solestrom. More styles and colors are expected to be available in the fall.

This nanotechnology-enhanced fabric sounds very promising. Just think—if they could apply this technology to everyday clothing, we’d never have to buy clothes dryers!
