Skiers Tracked Down Via Tweets and Google Maps

A group of early adopters was skiing in the Alps when two of them went missing. By Tweeting, friends were able to get the cell phone number of one of the missing.

Using the GPS signal and Google Maps, one of the lost skiers relayed the information to friends who then let the expert mountain searchers proceed with the successful rescue of one of the lost skiers.
