Expansive Modular Furniture

Don't Call This 'Little City of Seating' a Mere Sofa

This so-called "little city of seating," is the creative design work of Hugo de Ruiter for the Swiss company de Sede. The D-1064 is the latest in this series that offers a veritable plethora of personalized seating options.

The DS-1064 seating system--don’t dare call it a sofa--has back rests that can be placed in any number of configurations in this flexible, expandable modular seating.

As de Ruiter explains, “This makes for a tiny island of peace and security--not at the end of the world, but at our very feet--so that we can revel in a paradise of seating in our very own living rooms.”
