Recreating Famous Art With Food

Vegetable Masterpieces by Ju Duoqi

Reinventing the works of Picasso with peas and adding leeks to Leonardo's last supper, Chinese artist Ju Duoqi uses vegetables to create her own unique versions of famous Western Masterpieces.

Her culinary-inspired creations include artworks titled Mona Tofu and Cabbage Monroe.

Ju uses everyday vegetables such as cabbage, ginger, coriander and sweet potato as a base for her pieces, then she adds a dash of digital manipulation to finish them off.

Implications - Consumers have an intense desire to see beauty manifested through mundane objects. These consumers want to displace beauty as something elevated and ethereal. Companies should consider creating beauty out of unconventional objects to foster a deeper relationship with this group.
