Recession Proof Christmas Albums?

The Julianne Hough Holiday Collection

Julianne Hough’s Christmas album is going to be sold at Target stores this holiday season, arriving at a perfect time to keep the country singer’s career afloat after being eliminated from Dancing With The Stars… provided the album sells.

Christmas CDs are launched every year, in every genre, but they’re really only appropriate to listen to for about one, maximum two, months of the year. With the credit crunch, are people leaving people more financially conscious, is there still a market for Christmas CDs?

The Julianne Hough Holiday Collection includes hip songs like Santa Baby, Jingle Bell Rock and a duet with Phil Vassar of It Wasn’t His Child/Mary Did You Know.

Considering the recession, the reviews look surprisingly glowing for Julianna Hough, and other country singers releasing Christmas albums this year, including Sheryl Crow and Faith Hill.

Perhaps the promised success of these CDs is because people are willing to invest in happiness, holiday cheer and bonding time.

“I picked all my favorites, 20 year old Julianna Hough said. “The ones that I want to wrap Christmas presents to, or listen to at a big party.”
