Roger Hiorns' Copper Sulphate Den

This is an piece of work inside a run-down London council flat. The project started back in August was recently finished, and the reveal looks crazily good.

Facing eviction, Roger Hiorns went the unconventional route. In the name of art, he poured 90,000 litres of copper sulphate solution into an empty bedsit and turned it into an amazing lapis lazuli blue den. In his words, Roger said it was "a slightly surreal summer."

The pictures say it all, but even better, there was no official PR for this piece of art, nor has it been shown in a gallery. Word of mouth has resulted in 15,000 people visiting the slightly poisonous piece (it really is), despite it being on a crappy old estate.
