Carla - a 10-inch-long angelfish - has had some very unusual surgery. A hernia operation.
After being anaesthatised the exotic fish had a tube placed in her mouth and water pumped through her body and out her gills to enable her to breathe.
Carla is a resident at the London Aquarium for 10 years and staff decided to try and save her rather than put her to sleep when she developed the hernia. I hate to say it but I bet the PR people for them were rubbing their hands in glee when they heard about the story. I am sure they would have still saved Carla even without the PR - I have no idea why I have ticked the publicity stunt box do you?
