Extreme High Diving

The World-Record Belly Flop

Many of us experienced the pleasure and pain of a good belly flop during childhood; few of us wish to relive that pain in adulthood--especially from the heights of a high dive board. But Darren Taylor has made a career of doing just that.

Taylor, also known as Professor Splash, holds the world record for shallow diving. In this video, he dives into 12 inches of water from a high dive board 35 feet in the air. To prevent serious injury and death, Darren Taylor must land in a perfect belly flop.

Next week, Darren will jump from 40 feet in an attempt to break his own record on the Jimmy Kimmel Show.
