Floral Fiat 500s for Fashion Week

For Milan Fashion Week 2008, the Flower Council of Holland commissioned designers Arne Quinze, Studio Job, Arik Levy, Karim Rashid and Fredrikson Stallard to make real floral corsages for a fleet of Fiat 500’s. The fleet of ‘flower cars’ would then will be offering rides around Zona Tortona.

The flowers looked amazing on the cars but not all went smoothly; the police banned the cars from driving around.

A spokesman for the Dutch Flower Council, said, “It’s a shame that we’ve been grounded, but even if the cars don’t move, they’re still fantastic to look at – it’s not every day you get the chance to see a Fiat 500 covered in 1,000 pink chrysanthemums.”

Well yes you can - Cow got there first with the awesome yellow Chevrolet pictures, over two years ago.

Maybe there really is no such thing as a new idea? These images show how fantastic the cars looked, it is just a real shame (for them) that they could not have driven about. If they could have, it would have brought this stunt to life rather than just being another photo story.
