The World Bodypainting Asian Awards were held in Daegu, South Korea, and the some of the winners are pictured here.
For the competition, bodies are transformed into a living, breathing canvas that artists spend hours and hours working on.
Artists were urged to interpret the festival’s “Science, World of Wonders” and “Asia, Empires Growing, Empires Going” themes. The event was held in a stadium that normally houses World Cup Soccer!
There were four categories, Facepainting with special effects, semi-professional; Body Circus, Brush and Sponge.
