The Gucci Resort 2009 collection has been unveiled, and as always with the Italian fashion house, it was a dramatic show of sartorial splendor. Each piece was fit for a luxurious suitcase en route to the South of France, with crisp white pants and patterned tops that mimic the elaborate patterns one would see upholstering cushions in a Monaco hotel. What really stood out, however, were the dresses that shouted Greek goddess meets gypsy. The free-spirited nomad look was perfected with long, flowing hair and smoky, bandit-like eye makeup.
The cruise collection was displayed in the gardens of the Villa Aurelia in Rome, a seventeenth-century architectural stunner. The gallery shows some of the highlights from the show.
