Modern Mortality Charts

This Chart Analyzes the Major Causes of Death in the 20th Century

The modern world is full of people who are paranoid, hypochondriacs or people like me who are deathly afraid of silly things like heights and spiders, yet what exactly have been the major causes of death today?

David McCandless decided to use retrospection to analyze and graph all of the causes of death from the 20th century, in order to give you a better idea of what you should actually be looking out for. The worst culprits are different kinds of diseases, yet humanity, with all of its murder, wars and pollution is a big one as well.

While spiders didn't even make the list, knowing major causes of death can help you be wary of the real threats.
