The Picnic by Raw Edges is a merchandizing stand created for Danish textile manufacturer Kvadrat to showcase its products at this year's Stockholm Design Week Furniture and Lighting Fair.
The London-based design duo used hundreds of fabric ribbons to create this textural and experiential space. The designers cut up 20 singnature Kvadrat textiles, creating 1500 ribbon strips that surrounded and enclosed a wooden Douglas fir framed structure.
In addition to Kvadrat's products, The Picnic by Raw Edges display stand also showcases Danish flooring company Dinesen's designs. Inspired by traditional wooden cabin consturction, this pavilion mixes angular panels along with layered ribbon strips that are soft, texture-enriched and reminiscent of fish scales that add a decorative visual touch.
