Dotted Paint Portraits

The David Cooley Images Amass Small Bits of Color

Artist David Cooley entered the competitive industry in 2010. He has since developed a distinctive portfolio, one that has been consistently characterized by small dots of paint.

To get this dotted style across, Cooley makes use of a small metal instrument. He has by way of the tool mixed diverse mediums, apparent in his illustrations that feature spray paint, acrylic and even fabric.

These dabs come together in geometric patterns and ornate shapes. Sometimes depicting architecture and other times natural landscapes, he has been able to deliver a mixture of motifs via the small specks. New York's SCOPE gallery is set to be host to his pieces alongside those of Yosuke Ueno and Ana Bagayan.
