The Society for Community Organization (SoCo) commissioned a photography series in Hong Kong. The human rights committee went about the project in the interest of proper living conditions.
While Hong Kong was placed on a 2012 listing for the world's most livable cities, SoCo's images suggest otherwise. The cramped quarters provide little room for daily activities as they pack in kitchen utensils, clothing and bathroom products within single rooms.
These aerial views provide telling looks at the cubicle-like apartments. Often 40 square feet is all that is provided for Hong Kong natives. This comes of the way in which the interior of buildings have been divided up, leaving little if any square footage for residents.
