It's always intriguing to see what an imaginative designer can do with a simple fruit bowl, and Guillaume Delvigne certainly thought outside of the humdrum dish with his Climax Fruit Basket. In collaboration with Elise Lefebvre, a ceramicist, he dreamed up a piece in porcelain stoneware that takes quite unconventional forms for the material.
An oblong ring with a brown glaze is the frame of the unusual container. Across it width-wise, a series of sagging sticks in white create a loosely closed bottom for the bowl, providing the skeletal aesthetic impression of a ribcage.
To match the Climax Fruit Basket is an eccentric vase that branches off into a pair of asymmetrical spouts. These have curious pots attached that can plug the holes and hold water.
