Brass-Knitted Trinkets

The Metal Homewares Collection 'Metal Knitted Objects' is Stunning

Knitting and metalwork aren't exactly two things you would associate with each other -- but how about knitting with metal? This collection of hand-crafted artisan and bespoke products, from chairs to bowls to corkscrews, all feature elements of knitted metal.

The stunning pieces of craftsmanship were created as a collaboration between Danish designers OEO and Japan designers 'Japan Handmade'. The collection fuses old with new, combining traditional craftsmanship and handmade attention to detail with modern objects and product design. Presented at the 2013 Maison et Objet 2013 design showcase in Paris, France, the pieces use age old trusted techniques like hand-weaving to create these stunning pieces. Not only are these pieces aesthetically pleasing, but with their hand-crafted metal structures they are sure to stand the test of time too.
