When asked to come up with a unique holiday gift idea for employees, the Hot Pop Factory studio created customized 3D Printed PEZ Dispensers. Taking the original heads off of the candy dispensers, the design studio decided to replace them with personalized 3D printouts of the employees faces, so each one would receive a toy version of themselves.
The faces and heads were scanned with the use of some hacked XBOX Kinect programming, while the employees were led to believe that this was for some sort of research project. Then their heads were created with a 3D printer and attached to PEZ packaging.
The 3D Printed PEZ Dispensers ended up being a wonderful holiday surprise.
