The Frumpy Chairs by Jamie Wolfond Are Handcrafted Out of Plastic

The Frumpy Chairs have been aptly named. However, instead of being shabby and outdated, these seats are simply unkempt. Since they have been crafted out of brightly colored materials, with some texture and sparkles to add a little more pizzazz, it is hard to consider the Frumpy Chairs as anything short of playful and quirky--which is far from what the word 'frumpy' entails.

Created by Jamie Wolfond, a designer born and raised in Toronto, Canada, the Frumpy Chairs make up a series of one-of-a-kind designs made out of low-density polyethylene plastic. Currently a senior at the Rhode Island School of Design, Wolfond crafted each seat by hand using fire-proof silicone pattern and some staples. He reveals, "I sought to create an efficient production method that would produce a varied result."
