Furniture from Sandy's Debris Donates Proceeds to Help Storm Victims

A Brooklyn group called Reclaim NYC has reached out to designers in New York to create furniture from Sandy's debris.

Hurricane Sandy wreaked havoc in New York and other parts of the United States, destroying memorable areas and creating a large amount of debris in the process. Reclaim NYC calls on designers to help clean up the destroyed areas by recycling the debris caused by Sandy's destructive path. The furniture from Sandy's debris not only channels the designers' imagination to create something beautiful out of tragedy but also immortalizes the moment in a physical form so that people will never forget one of the most chaotic disasters of 2012. All furniture will be sold at an auction held at the Ligne Roset's SoHo showroom in New York City on December 19, 2012. The proceeds will be donated to help storm victims.
