Moj.io Connects Smartphones to Dumb Cars

Moj.io is a new device designed to connect dumb cars to smartphones. The device attaches into your car’s OBD-II port (found on all cars made after 1995) and connects to the Internet using T-Mobile’s (Rogers in Canada) machine-2-machine network. Connecting your car to the Internet using moji.io allows you to monitor the health of your car, track its location and much, much more.

Moj.io comes with eight built-in apps. DriveSmart is the marquee app; it allows you to remotely disable a driver’s incoming phone calls and text messages. Other awesome apps include Tow Alert and Virtual Mechanic. Aside from the apps, another great feature of moj.io is the fact that it’s open source. The developers of the device are currently seeking $100,000 of funding on Indiegogo. You can check out the video here to get more information on this awesome automotive intelligence enhancer.
