Lee Hee Young is the recipient of the award-winning concept design for the Urban Bonfire radiator, which uses visual cues to remind the user that the device is still running.
The heater is turned on by a simple tap at the bottom with the user's foot. This means that users no longer have to bend down repeatedly to switch the device on and off. Once turned on, the wooden slats that were tapped on the bottom push inwards, causing the top to tilt slightly outwards, reminiscent of an actual flame as well as the firewood. Inspired by a bonfire, the Urban Bonfire radiator emits a reddish light that reflects off the adjacent wall to show that it is still on.
