Clothespin-Inspired Lighting

The Peg Lamp by William Mcdonald is Minimal and Adjustable

The Peg Lamp by William Mcdonald, a Canadian designer and recent industrial design graduate from Carleton University in Ottawa, Canada, was inspired by old-fashioned wooden clothespins. Functioning in quite the same way, the lamp's stand acts as the peg while the long wooden arm pinched between it and extending outwards can be likened to the rope clothespins are often hung from.

Completed with a simple base and a red cord, the Peg Lamp by William Mcdonald has a minimalist aesthetic and a modular function. Thanks to the stand's hollowed middle, the light fixtures wooden arm can be raised, lowered, angled and shortened as needed. It is made out of such basic materials as aluminum, wood and felt.
