Brutal Bruise Ads

The Ni Putes Ni Soumises Campaign Shows the Color of Violence

Ni Putes Ni Soumises (Neither Whore Nor Submissive) is a French feminist movement that recently released a powerful ad campaign. As though loosely mimicking the Pantone color chips, the posters revolve around specific colors. The difference, however, is that instead of solid colors, it involves the depiction of bruises. From 'Rape Red' to 'Booze Brown,' the ads show how each woman, now deceased, got them.

Created by BETC, an ad agency based in France, the Ni Putes Ni Soumises ad campaign urges people to "fight violence against women." Art directed by Francis De Ligt with creative direction by Manoelle Van Der Vaeren, the compelling images will surely inspire empathy in viewers. Photographed by Eric Traore, they give new context to the injuries some women face on a daily basis.
