Coming in May 2013, NYC will see a new practical form of human-powered technology with 'The Charge Cycle' -- a bike-powered phone charging station.

The premise of the bike is simple; once you find one of the 30 bike stations located all around the city, you hop on the bike and begin to pedal until you get the right amount of power back onto your phone. The stationary bike comes equipped with a basket and a charging dock, which also functions as a bracket to hold the bike in one place.

This stationary bike is a practical and sustainable solution to the dreaded 'low battery' signal that comes across our phone screen from time to time. What's even better about this product is that it helps you burn a few calories in the process. Though the bike will only be available in limited quantities, the 'Charge Cycle' is a human-powered technology device that is sure to last.
