Fluffy Spearmint Bites

The Cupcakes and Cashmere 'Peppermint Marshmallows' Are Fresh

Cupcakes and Cashmere's 'Peppermint Marshmallows' are inspired by curator Emily Schuman's regular consumption of the fluffy white bites. She brings up the light and sweet taste of the homemade treats, revamping the store bought variety that most turn to in a haste.

Schuman followed Martha Stewart's recipe for her Peppermint Marshmallows post. The two used gelatin, granulated salt, sugar, corn syrup and sifted sugar. The fresh twist comes from the addition of a 1/4 teaspoon of peppermint extract, infusing the snacks with tangy flavors.

A bit of food coloring allowed Schuman to make a series of swirl patterns, making them all the more festive for the holidays. Final touches came from the charming twine-tied packaging and hand written tags.
