Casey Neistat's 'Hurricane Sandy on Bikes in NYC' Tracks the Monsoon

Tech expert Casey Neistat braved the flooded streets in his 'Hurricane Sandy on Bikes in NYC' film. Neistat cycled around the city's metro stations, harbors and monuments, documenting giant puddles and the quiet chaos with his camera.

Neistat produced the short film for Gizmodo. Although his power and internet cut out, he managed to put together the clips in a haste. As Hurricane Sandy has taken the eastern front by surprise, coverage of the event has been in large part characterized by this exact sense of expediency.

While Neistat did not have much time for edits or embellishments, his visual report reveals damage and all out devastation to viewers. The hazy, grey shots provide dramatic effects.
