Luxe Escalator Runways

Louis Vuitton's Spring/Summer 2013 Show is Mod

Louis Vuitton's Spring/Summer 2013 show blew the minds of spectators at the 2012 Paris Fashion Week. Pairs of models were transported to the runway via escalators, taking them to a waxy platform covered in yellow and white checkerboard marks.

This luxury line is largely inspired by mod 1960s motifs, seen in the bouffant hairstyles and mini skirts. Scenes from the famous Austin Powers series comes to mind at once, especially with looks at the angular trench coats and fitted blazers.

The airy music that filled the room added a sense of drama to the production. Bloggers have been marveling ever since at the French houses incorporation of dual toned squares, pitted against one another on the skirts, jackets and revealing two-piece get ups.
