The Peugeot Piano of the Future Breathes New Life into a Classic Ins

In conjunction with piano manufacturer Pleyel, Peugeot Design Lab unveiled their piano of the future, which they’re claiming will overturn the conventions of the music world.

By lowering the mechanics and aligning the piano’s cover with the keyboard, the audience will be able to view the artist from virtually an angle. This aspect is especially significant for piano players because it allows them to show off their hands as they play, which creates a higher level on interaction with the audience.

Furthermore, with Peugeot’s piano of the future, pianists will be able to hear the sound radiating from their instrument with a stunning clarity unattainable by traditional pianos. And while the body of the piano is still composed of wood, the lid and legs are made from carbon fibre to help increase sound projection.

The ultimate goal envisioned by Peugeot for their piano of the future is to maintain the piano’s timeless elegance and simultaneously give the instrument a much richer and more powerful sound.
