Controversial Colored Cat Books

The 'Why Paint Cats: The Ethics of Feline Aesthetics' is Purrfect

Whenever there is controversy or bad publicity in regards to a product or celebrity, people will flock to it; such is the case with the 'Why Paint Cats: The Ethics of Feline Aesthetics' by Burton Silver and Heather Busch.

This book has been getting a lot of attention for its series of brightly painted cats. The book was originally designed to poke fun at the world's current unhealthy obsession with all things cats. The book has been receiving mixed reviews as some love the book and others loathe the idea. One review went on to describe the book as "so weird that it’s sort of irresistible."

Author Burton Silver and illustrator Heather Busch made a key point to have it known that no cats were harmed in the making of the book and that all of the brightly painted colors are in fact made using Photoshop.
