Before there are any fainting spells, the Circ-Cell ABO Blood Serum eye gel isn't actually concocted out of blood. Instead it is a synthetic blood that "harnesses a blend of oxygen-rich ingredients to reduce the appearance of wrinkles, puffiness, and dark, under-eye circles," according to its website. Not even a blood substitute, it nevertheless promotes the skin around the eyes to feel revitalized and fresh.

Developed by Melanie Simon, a celebrity facialist, the Circ-Cell ABO Blood Serum eye gel uses powerful perfluorocarbons to achieve this youthful look. Simon tells Sunday's New York Times, "As we get older, our blood vessels break down, and become increasingly unable to deliver nutrients to our tissues and metabolize waste." This is one way to combat that.
