The Absolut Mexico Bottle Design References Mayan Culture

Absolut Vodka has teamed up with Mexico-based artist Dr. Lakra to create the new line of Absolut Mexico limited-edition bottles which feature some really captivating Myan-inspired artworks.

Dr. Lakra refers to himself as a “low-culture artist” and says that he took his inspiration for the new Absolut design from tattoo art and magazines. The bottle comes in a very traditional Mexican styling and pays tribute to three important and legendary Mayan cultural elements: ‘Balam,’ which refers to the Jaguar; ‘Kukulkan,’ which is the feathered Serpent, and ‘Hurakan,’ the God of wind, worm and fire.

The work that was put into designing this bottle is exquisite, and it really comes through in the accompanying video.
