Chalk Dancing

The 'Power Dance' Series by Geraldine Lamanna is Full of Movement

The 'Power Dance' Series by Geraldine Lamanna is inspired by Adele's song 'Rolling in the Deep.' The German photographer was able to capture dancers in the midst of some amazing leaps and jumps throughout their routines throwing chalk.

The powder adds a fluidity to the photography that compliments the dancers choreography. Adding an extension, the chalk allows the dancers to appear to extend their limbs and reach far beyond what is humanly possible.

One of the best aspects to this series is the pure, unadulterated joy that is immediately evident on the faces of the dancers throwing around the chalk. The powerful series is a great dance depiction and has a lot of visual interest.
