Skyline Structures

The MCR Cloud House Mimics Natural Settings

The architects at McBridge Charles Ryan (MCR) have constructed the Australia-based 'Cloud House.' The incredible design feat is indeed shaped just like a rounded cloud, bringing a bit of the Melbourne skyline to the ground.

The creative team at MCR managed to convert what was once an Edwardian home into the sleek Cloud House. The extension of the 100-year old abode provided room for the lavish inclusion of a pool, modern kitchen and conservatory, all unusual additions that fit with its even more unusual configuration.

The beams of wood that line the mock clouds accord the Cloud House with an earthy, woodsy spirit despite its airborne qualities. Its south-facing position also serves to minimize the structure's greenhouse effect as it is hidden in part from harsh sunlight.
