Power Tower Installations

The DOMA Neon Colossus Celebrates Argentinian Science, Art & Technology

The 'DOMA' Neon Colossus is a transformed power tower in Buenos Aires, Argentina that is grabbing everyone's attention. The power tower robot is 45 meters tall and was built for Tecnopolis 2012, an annual event which celebrates Argentina's science, art and technology.

Forged by the art collective DOMA, the gigantic work of art is constructed out of neon lights which create each of the supercharged robot body parts. The DOMA Neon Colossus has a glowing core, hands, shoulder spines and face, and the neon lights are also animated, giving the illusion that the humongous structure is actually moving.

While it is not immediately clear if the DOMA Neon Colossus is friend or foe, one thing is for sure: this massive work of art is a welcome highlight to the city of Buenos Aires.
