Fashionistas would be surprised to find out that the delicate design from Irish jewellery designer Daniela Cardillo are made from horse hair and rodent bones. The eco-friendly materials make for some beautiful necklaces, rings, bangles and pins.
According to Cardillo's website, the pieces were created because she was "intrigued by the components that make up a creature. Taxidermy, hunting trophies and the concept of the animal as a status and power symbol, are topics also at the root of her work."
Some of the techniques Cardillo to repurpose these animal leftovers include dying horsehair in pastel colors and then weaving it into accessories.
