David Egen Recreates Iconic Photographs with Star Wars Toys

Canadian art teacher and photographer David Eger has recreated famous photographs using Star Wars figurines in his latest project. The series is aptly named '365 Days of Clones.'

Each of the photographs in the series were taken on a specially chosen date. This date usually corresponds to the date the original photograph was taken, but some correspond to the birth or death date of the original artist instead. All of the scenography is done in real life -- that means he avoided the use of Photoshop.

These pictures fit in with the broader pattern of toy art that has become popular recently. The most prominent example would be designer toys like those of Kid Robot. It seems that today's art lovers have an itch to reconnect with their youth.
