San Francisco's subway system, BART, has just received a facelift with amazing illustrations entitled 'Literary Journeys' by Owen Smith.

Riding the subway can sometimes get awkward when the person sitting in front of you is playing the eye-catch game; it can also be a sad ride when you're repeatedly reading the billboards advertising the job career that reads 'Waiting for You!'

Literary Journey is a series of illustrations that will soon be plastered all over the BART system. The series offers depictions of riders reading famous books, immersed inside the world of the story they're reading. Some of Smith's illustrations include The Maltese Falcon by Dashiell Hammett, the Joy Luck Club by Amy Tan and The Call of the Wind by Jack London.
