The BMW i Pedelec is the Newest Addition to the i Series

The BMW i Pedelec is the latest addition to the company's eco-friendly i Series of vehicles. Unlike the i3 and the i8, the i Pedelec has only two wheels, and is powered by a combination of pedal power and electricity. The bike has a 42-volt electric hub motor paired to a three-speed gear hub. The bike has some advanced features, including front and rear disc brakes and a regenerative braking system.

The BMW i Pedelec only provides pedal assistance until 16mph. The reason for this is to ensure that the bike doesn't need to be insured or registered like a faster electric scooter or motorcycle. The bike's battery has a range of 16 to 25 miles, and can be recharged in four hours or in 90 minutes with a quick charge. What's more, the i Pedelec can also fold up and be docked in the trunk of an i3 for a quick power up.
