The over-exaggerated body parts surreally flow in the ZEITGUISED Hyper Trophies Series. The portrait films were created by the studio ZEITGUISED, or as its Twitter account describes, “the irregular twin of zeitgeist imagineering.” The Berlin-based ZEITGUISED was founded by American sculptor Jamie Raap and German architect.
Each video feels like a hallucination, making viewers unsure if it is moving or a figment of imagination. The endless loop of irregular body parts was a ZEITGUISED collaboration with the Berlin fashion label Franzius. The motion portraits show off models Medea Paffenholz and Kristin Keil wearing the label’s Winter Collection 2012/13.
This surreally out-of-this-world project premiered during Gallery Weekend Berlin 2012 in the Stink Temporary Gallery.
