Deep Fried Gadgets

Henry Hargreaves Turns Electronics into Crisp Greasy Food

People fry chicken, vegetables and sometimes even chocolate bars, but nothing quite like this collection of deep fried electronics by Henry Hargreaves.

Hargreaves is a Brooklyn-based photographer who teamed up with Cailtin Levin, a food stylist, to create a series of greasy fried gadgets that range from Macbooks to iPods to iPads. The dishes are presented as food with utensils. Although these will be hard to swallow, let alone taste, these deep-fried gadgets put viewers in awe.

This project is odd and fun-poking, but it can also resemble the actions of consumers. Once a toy is considered old, it's disposed of and customers line up at retail stores for something new. Henry Hargreaves takes a step into unravelling the issues surrounding consumerist culture with this photographic series.
